Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue Surgery Referrals
Dr Bradley Richardson BVSc, MANZCVS (Small Animal Surgery) joined us as the head of our referral team at Vet Hospital Group in 2025 and is based out of our Albany Veterinary Hospital. Brad is a Massey University graduate (2011) and started his career working in Waipukurau and Whakatane working in mixed animal practice for the first 5 years of his career before narrowing in to focusing on small animal work. After 10 years as a veterinarian he moved to Christchurch and began work as a locum veterinarian throughout New Zealand. He has since recently completed a rotating internship at Veterinary Specialists Aotearoa (surgery focused) before completing his ANZCVS training in small animal surgery and moving onto a surgical internship in Victoria, Australia.
Outside of work Brad enjoys bouldering (rock climbing) with his partner Pam, board games and travelling, often visiting Canada to visit his partner's family.
Brad has always had a passion for orthopaedics and i sexcited to be in a solely surgical role, allowing him to focus on a smaller number of cases daily, giving them the time and attention they deserve.
